5min @AP_Archive clip - Holiday in Blackpool - #1938
text from youtube "Workers receive pay before leaving on their holidays, and one goes home to tell his wife the happy tidings. They pack, and leave for Blackpool. At Blackpool, the beaches are crowded, and donkey rides, sea trips, and shellfish are in great demand. Even the famous ballrooms and Amusement Parks are well patronised, and Dancers perform the Lambeth Walk and the Blackpool Walk, not, perhaps, as expertly as it is done in one of the shows. After the holiday, the workers return, broke but happy."

'Opening Time' on Export Enterprise! An East London firm has developed a new moulding technique to reproduce old timber, brick and stone - ever pewter plates and mugs - in Plastic. There's a big demand, overseas as well as at home, for an Olde Worlde atmosphere, and the company can supply complete pub interiors - from Tudor beams and inglenook fireplaces to wall panelling and bar furniture - all in glass reinforced polyester.
