Cable car from Switzerland to Italy
It’s Europe’s highest-altitude border crossing. The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing links 2 existing cable car stations. The Klein Matterhorn station in Switzerland, at 3,800m altitude and Testa Grigia in Italy at 3,460m. The route passes over the Theodul Glacier. It’s 1.6km long and takes 4 minutes. This new stretch is the final link in a much longer route. Passengers can now travel from the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt to the Italian resort of Cervinia. #switzerland #matterhorn #italy #skiing #cablecar

12min @thecrashcourse #Europe in the Global Age: Crash Course European History #48
text from youtube "In which John looks at what it even means to live in a global age, as we've been talking about Europe's role in the gobal community for 47 episodes now. But, pedantry aside, the world is more connected than ever, and that has had effects in Europe. Today we'll investigate how trade, communications, and disease have changed the continent. "
