3min @AP_archive clip - I gotta bet - 1961

text from youtube "I like a little flutter now and then. I also always keep my eyes peeled for British Movietone cameraman Paul Wyand. He often makes a cameo in newsreel stories and he's in this one about betting shops. He's the first man we see, being naughty! I love it!

Street betting! What a hole-and-corner business it was! And what types the street bookies were! But now, the betting shop is here at-last, and there are official, as well as private shops, quite ready to take your money. Our pictures show how a punter can legally play the horses without going to the courses.
