give a man a fish

and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and ......
- you feed him for a lifetime
- he will push an entire species to extinction
- you get rid of him for the whole weekend
- you lose a wonderful business opportunity
- you will not have to listen to his incessant whining about how hungry he is
- you can sell him fishing equipment
- somewhere some woman is going to have to learn how to clean and gut that fish, then how to prepare it, and finally, how to put up with those neverending "fish stories" about the one that got away
- you feed him for a lifetime. Teach him to cycle, he'll realise fishing is stupid & boring.(ht @Cyclr)
- give a son a fishing rod and you get rid of him & his dad for the whole weekend (ht @SparrowsNursery)
- give a man a knife and he can learn to gut fish himself (ht @SparrowsNursery)
