Cable car from Switzerland to Italy
It’s Europe’s highest-altitude border crossing. The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing links 2 existing cable car stations. The Klein Matterhorn station in Switzerland, at 3,800m altitude and Testa Grigia in Italy at 3,460m. The route passes over the Theodul Glacier. It’s 1.6km long and takes 4 minutes. This new stretch is the final link in a much longer route. Passengers can now travel from the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt to the Italian resort of Cervinia. #switzerland #matterhorn #italy #skiing #cablecar

14min #crashcourse #Italian and #German #Unification: Crash Course World History #27
text from youtube "So, we haven't talked much about Italy and Germany so far in Crash Course Euro, and that's because prior to the mid-19th century, those two nation-states weren't really a thing. Today we'll look at how Italy and Germany pulled it together in the second half of the 1800s. You'll learn about Guisseppe Garibaldi, Victor Emmanuelle, Otto von Bismarck, Wilhelm I, and a whole heck of a lot about the development of modern politics.
