Keeping middle seats open on a plane can help maintain physical distance between passengers. But it’s unlikely to prevent virus transmission; there are many other ways coronavirus can spread on an airplane. One thing’s for sure, though: a vacant middle seat will definitely affect how much we pay to fly.
